Bamboo Vale Games presents
In development
A fantasy role-playing game about exploring mysterious dungeons, finding powerful treasures, and building an adventurer without being locked into a permanent class.
Explore the designA world with depths to discover
Dungeons mysteriously appear in the world and grow over time. They generate monsters and treasure, making established dungeons dangerous but extremely valuable. Some have recognizable themes; others appear much more unpredictable. Adventurers venture deeper in search of greater challenges and rewards.
Rewards are shaped primarily by where you venture and what you defeat, rather than automatically scaling to character level. A dangerous deep location can hold genuinely powerful treasure—even for an adventurer not yet prepared to use it.
Choose a beginning, not a boundary
Your starting Training determines what your character already knows. It does not determine what your character can eventually learn.
A Warrior-trained character can learn magic. A Wizard-trained character can develop martial skills and armor proficiency.
Background and Training are independent choices, so unusual combinations are welcome.
Where you came from
A Background describes prior experience. It does not limit your future.
Prior martial experience.
Experience with illicit work, stealth, locks, traps, or fighting; begins with Delver’s Tools.
Wilderness and hunting experience.
Academic study of lore or magic.
Experience in an organized protective, magical, scholarly, monastic, or charitable tradition.
Begins with substantially greater starting wealth.
Accustomed to hard physical work and increased carrying capacity.
Broad prior experience rather than specialization.
What you already know
These are starting training packages, not permanent classes.
Broad martial weapon and armor training.
Selected weapon training and broad practical skill development.
Hybrid martial, defensive, and Restoration magical training.
Broad starting magical expertise.
A flexible path forward
Strength, Agility, Vitality, Intellect, Willpower, and Presence shape an adventurer’s foundation.
Proficiencies show whether a character has been trained to use something properly; skills show how good that character has become at it.
Abilities are active capabilities, including martial Techniques and magical Spells. Talents are passive capabilities and perks.
Skills can improve through meaningful use, while leveling brings additional opportunities to shape your character.
